The Amelia Island Association (AIA) was
established in 2002 by representatives of
various homeowner associations (HOA)
on the island to provide a common voice
for residents on matters of local
government and the general issues of
quality of life.  In 2007, AIA restructured
to extend membership to individuals,
rather than homeowner associations, so
that membership is open to all who are
interested in the goals of Amelia Island
Association. For more information,
Analysis of Florida State Highway Safety
& Motor Vehicles Traffic Crash Data
(www.flhsmv.gov) shows Nassau has a
safety problem. For example, Nassau
crashes are up 44% compared to 5 % for
Florida; injuries up 30 % compared to -
4% for Florida; and deaths up 93%
compared to 1% for Florida. If you have
any ideas to help reduce this problem,
please email us. For more information,
